I did not notice any changes in the surface mesh, but have not done a thorough comparison. I remember netgen being able to be used to assemble meshed layers (matching surface meshes), for stress computations, but memories from 2013 are vague.
I am still trying to figure out how to view the mesh more thoroughly in netgen. Is there a paraview out option? (vtk, vtu?)
